How AVEE measures network availability

AVEE shows an availability signal in the app and references "recent telemetry" on these pages. This page explains, at a high level, what that is based on, what it cannot tell you, and why two people on different networks can get different results with the same service. It is deliberately non-specific about operational details.

What the signal is

AVEE nodes report health and reachability data on a schedule. The app combines recent node status with online reachability checks to show whether a route currently looks usable, with a short cache so the indicator does not flicker. It is a guidance signal, not a service-level guarantee, and not a promise about your specific connection.

What it does not measure

Why results vary between people

A VPN connection has to survive the whole path between your device and the node. Deep packet inspection rules differ by carrier and are updated frequently; a filter profile may be active on one line and not another; mobile data and fixed broadband are often filtered separately; and server IP ranges get blocked at different times in different places. Does a green availability signal mean AVEE will work for me?
