VPN for mobile data

A VPN that connects fine on home Wi-Fi but not on your phone's mobile data is one of the most common complaints in restrictive markets — and it is almost always the carrier, not your app. Mobile networks apply their own filtering, CGNAT and APN rules, separately from fixed broadband. This page explains what is different and what to change.

Why cellular is harder for VPNs

What to change on mobile data

  1. Use an obfuscated / TCP transport on port 443. Plain WireGuard and UDP are caught first on cellular. A transport camouflaged as HTTPS survives longer — see VLESS vs WireGuard.
  2. Toggle airplane mode for ~10 seconds. Pulls a fresh carrier IP and clears a stuck session — more effective on mobile than on fixed lines because of CGNAT.
  3. Check your APN. Confirm it matches your carrier's documented access point name. A reset can revert it.
  4. Allow the VPN to run in the background. Disable battery optimisation for the VPN app and enable "always-on" / persistent connection if available.
  5. Try a nearby server. Latency is higher on mobile; a close server keeps things usable and may avoid a throttled shared IP.

Where AVEE fits

AVEE is built mobile-first: Android is the primary app, and the VLESS + Reality transport is camouflaged as ordinary HTTPS on port 443 by default — which is exactly what tends to survive carrier DPI. It is not a promise for every network; the free trial (about 1 GB, up to 3 days) is there so you can check it on your own SIM before paying. Plans start at $1/month, and the 100 GB / 300 GB tiers suit metered mobile use.

For your specific country, see the guides for Pakistan, Turkey and Kazakhstan.

Network conditions vary by carrier and location. Test AVEE on your own connection before you pay.

FAQ

Why does my VPN work on Wi-Fi but not on mobile data?
Because the carrier filters its mobile network separately from fixed broadband. The same VPN protocol can be fingerprinted and dropped on cellular while passing on Wi-Fi. Switch to an obfuscated/TCP transport on port 443 and pull a fresh IP with airplane mode.
Does airplane mode really fix a VPN on mobile data?
Often, yes. A 10-second toggle gives you a new carrier IP and resets the radio, which clears stuck sessions — more useful on mobile than fixed because of carrier-grade NAT.
Is a VPN slower on mobile data?
Usually a little, from higher latency and more variable signal. Connecting to a nearby server helps. Published AVEE plans share the same speed floor; real throughput depends on the network.
Which AVEE plan suits mobile use?
The 100 GB ($1) or 300 GB ($2) tiers match typical metered mobile use; the $3 plan is unlimited if you tether or stream.
